چکیده
We study in this paper the production, in hadronic collisions, of final states with W gauge bosons, heavy quark pairs and n extra jets (with n up to 4). The complete partonic tree-level QCD matrix elements are evaluated using the ALPHA algorithm, and the events generated at the parton level are then evolved through the QCD shower and eventually hadronised using the coherent shower evolution provided by the HERWIG Monte Carlo. We discuss the details of our Monte Carlo implementation, and present results of phenomenological interest for the Tevatron Collider and for the LHC. We also comment on the impact of our calculation on the backgrounds to W (H → bb̄) production, when only one b jet is tagged. B → π and B → K Transitions from QCD Sum Rules on the Light - Cone Patricia
FERMILAB–PUB–98/067–T (extended version) CERN–TH/98–215 hep-ph/9802394 Abstract: I calculate the form factors describing semileptonic and penguin-induced decays of B mesons into light pseudoscalar mesons. The form factors are calculated from QCD sum rules on the light-cone including contributions up to twist 4, radiative corrections to the leading twist contribution and SU(3)-breaking effects. ...
متن کاملWhat Is the Upper Limit on the Lightest Supersymmetric
In this talk the question of what is the upper bound on the lightest supersymmetric Higgs mass, mh is addressed. This question is relevant since experimental lower bounds on mh might implement, in the near future, exclusion of supersymmetry. By imposing (perturbative) unification of the gauge couplings at some high scale > ∼ 10 GeV, we have found that for a top-quark mass Mt = 175 GeV, and depe...

How particles emerge from decaying classical fields in heavy ion collisions: towards a kinetic description of the Glasma
We develop the formalism discussed previously in hep-ph/0601209 and hep-ph/0605246 to construct a kinetic theory that provides insight into the earliest “Glasma” stage of a high energy heavy ion collision. Particles produced from the decay of classical fields in the Glasma obey a Boltzmann equation whose novel features include an inhomogeneous source term and new contributions to the collision ...
